This was our first Halloween in the new place and it was magical! We basically have the cutest house ever.

Mandatory party photo: (I was a bumblebee and Scott was a party-pooper!)

first trip to the vet.

I was so sad to take Frankie to get her vaccinations... She seemed so scared to be there! She hides up behind my head when she's feeling threatened, so this was her perch before the doctor came:

And she totally killed me with her little claws when the doctor came in:

But she was alright when we got home and was so cute in her little bandana!
It was definitely a good lesson... but it'll be even more sad to take a little baby to the doctor some day! :( Good thing that won't happen for a long time.

photo life montage 10/17-10/24

Late again! Ha! It was kind of an un-epic week...

South Park mid-week bar run:

For some reason, Scott and I sat on opposite sides of the table at Alchemy, and Scott said Jorge and I look like a couple!

Furthering that image, we shared a drink.

The "couple" at the other side of the table.... :)

Girl Scout Camping:

Then, I went "camping" with Lynsey's Brownie troop that weekend. It was kind of yucky weather, so we ended up roughing it inside the leader's church in Ocean Beach.

Snack time!

 Hiking on the cliffs.

Quite a lovely week.

say yes to the dress.

Wedding dress is bought! Can I say "Hooray!" enough?

My "YES!!!" moment: (Cropped for obvious reasons.)

the week in photos.

Umm... Can I just hang a huge fail sign the whole "photo a day" idea? By day three I had already forgotten to take any pictures, mainly because the whole day was pretty much just WORK. So, time for a little edit, more of a highlights reel of the week. Works much better for me.

Sunday Farmers Market:

My view on the way to the booth!

Rae and her mom came to visit us! SO awesome.

My work week:

All she EVER does!

Binder Check Fridays. My least favorite day of work.

Nicole's Birthday Party: (generally drama filled, as always!)

Sexy time?
Cake! Super yummy red velvet bundt cake!
Shout House!
Success! <3

photo a day.

There is a puppy on my shoulder right now. More specifically, she is the adorable little love who joined our family today, Frankie. Short for Frankenstein of course... :) She does the weirdest things like grunting and breathing tiny little fast breathes, and of course crawling immediately to perch on your shoulder like a little bird. She is the cutest thing, and Fats is even more adorable because he comes to peek at her like a toddler does to a new baby. He is so excited!

Her arrival comes with a new little project I want to do.  Since I bought my camera, I have only used it a handful of times. Plus, I have my phone too... So I am going to take at least a photo a day, and post them on here in clumps. Kind of cheesy, and very overdone, but I think it will be fun, and this is going to be a very big year! So, here goes nothing:

Look how sad Fats looks with his cone! (and his serious lack of huevos.)

The new little sweetie sleeping.

thoughts and dreams.

Soooo my mom put the little grain of a thought into my head and I have been thinking about it ever since. I want to open my own store... With donations and vintage and handmade consignment items. It is daunting, and a huge endeavor, and oh so scary. Such a big leap! We would do major research first of course, and get lots of allies on our side (crafters, donators and shoppers!).

Scott seems to think that I am crazy... But people do this, right? They do venture out on their own, and are at times even quite successful at it. Rae, since you are like the only person who reads this, this post is pretty redundant, as you already know all of this.  Ha ha, I am blogging to a crowd of one and it is lovely! I <3 you, you are a good friend. (and Robin too!)

I am just finding the post-college life to be unfulfilling, and this seems so... perfect. Something that I can work hard at, toil away at, and see real results. Put myself to work and see not just a paycheck, but the product of my labors. Like the way it felt to see my name credited on the 2009 Whaley House Field Manual, with my research on those  pages! Not just some term paper that disappeared into the abyss.

Does this just have to be dream land? That makes me sad.

(the usual inspiration)

such a hipsta.

So, the best part of having an Iphone is the Hipstamatic app, which = pictures with cool effects. Definitely makes for some interesting times while doing boring things.

dream a little dream.

Once again I'm inspired by my favorite crafty super-blogger Elsie, and her idea for all of us out here in blog land to set some short term, make-your-life-better goals. (The pic is her creation, btw.) Considering that this is something that I probably never have decided to do just out of the blue, it's pretty cool.

Eat Fruits and Veggies Every Day

I am such a carb fiend! But I know this will be easy and oh so beneficial.

 Write In A Planner

I lack organization. Nuff said.

Take at Least One Day a Week for Crafty Stuff

I have been pretty lazy about finding new projects... I need to fill our home with lots of great homemade art!

Try New Recipes

I've been in a little bit of a cooking rut and really need to try some new food. Variety is the spice of life!

So, now you think about it!

P.S. Scott gave me his I Phone today! I am so stoked!

public radio nerd out.

So first off, I just heard the devastating news that the Triceratops never actually existed. Thank you Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me for shattering my dreams. I'm gonna go cry now.

Otherwise, today was awesome. Nothing makes for a more relaxing day than chilling on my own, shopping and running errands. Super perfect.

i know, but...

Okay, I know he plays a serial killer and stuff.... but Michael C. Hall is weirdly hot.

I dunno, it could have to something to do with watching like five hours of Dexter yesterday. Ha!
Also, random: he's married to the girl who plays this sister on the show. Weird!

Ummm I watch too much TV!

Sometimes I wonder why I haven't learned yet, not to let other people have control over my emotions. Hell, I can see or hear something upsetting and let it tear at my heartstrings. But one person... they can hold me up or tear me down, and I have no say. How the fuck did I get here, to this very spot?

Only my ladies can help me now:

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

I know I just made an embarrassing emotional rant not more than half an hour ago, but check out Kadanuumuu (aka "big man"). He's a 4 million year old hominid! Newly discovered and published, and also the most complete clavicle and shoulder blade ever found in the human fossil record. Coolness!
