There is a puppy on my shoulder right now. More specifically, she is the adorable little love who joined our family today, Frankie. Short for Frankenstein of course... :) She does the weirdest things like grunting and breathing tiny little fast breathes, and of course crawling immediately to perch on your shoulder like a little bird. She is the cutest thing, and Fats is even more adorable because he comes to peek at her like a toddler does to a new baby. He is so excited!
Her arrival comes with a new little project I want to do. Since I bought my camera, I have only used it a handful of times. Plus, I have my phone too... So I am going to take at least a photo a day, and post them on here in clumps. Kind of cheesy, and very overdone, but I think it will be fun, and this is going to be a very big year! So, here goes nothing:

Look how sad Fats looks with his cone! (and his serious lack of huevos.)

thoughts and dreams.
Soooo my mom put the little grain of a thought into my head and I have been thinking about it ever since. I want to open my own store... With donations and vintage and handmade consignment items. It is daunting, and a huge endeavor, and oh so scary. Such a big leap! We would do major research first of course, and get lots of allies on our side (crafters, donators and shoppers!).
Scott seems to think that I am crazy... But people do this, right? They do venture out on their own, and are at times even quite successful at it. Rae, since you are like the only person who reads this, this post is pretty redundant, as you already know all of this. Ha ha, I am blogging to a crowd of one and it is lovely! I <3 you, you are a good friend. (and Robin too!)
I am just finding the post-college life to be unfulfilling, and this seems so... perfect. Something that I can work hard at, toil away at, and see real results. Put myself to work and see not just a paycheck, but the product of my labors. Like the way it felt to see my name credited on the 2009 Whaley House Field Manual, with my research on those pages! Not just some term paper that disappeared into the abyss.
Does this just have to be dream land? That makes me sad.
(the usual inspiration)

such a hipsta.
So, the best part of having an Iphone is the Hipstamatic app, which = pictures with cool effects. Definitely makes for some interesting times while doing boring things.

dream a little dream.
Eat Fruits and Veggies Every Day
Write In A Planner
I lack organization. Nuff said.
Take at Least One Day a Week for Crafty Stuff
I have been pretty lazy about finding new projects... I need to fill our home with lots of great homemade art!
Try New Recipes
I've been in a little bit of a cooking rut and really need to try some new food. Variety is the spice of life!
So, now you think about it!
P.S. Scott gave me his I Phone today! I am so stoked!

public radio nerd out.
So first off, I just heard the devastating news that the Triceratops never actually existed. Thank you Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me for shattering my dreams. I'm gonna go cry now.
Otherwise, today was awesome. Nothing makes for a more relaxing day than chilling on my own, shopping and running errands. Super perfect.
P.S.

i know, but...
Okay, I know he plays a serial killer and stuff.... but Michael C. Hall is weirdly hot.
I dunno, it could have to something to do with watching like five hours of Dexter yesterday. Ha!
Also, random: he's married to the girl who plays this sister on the show. Weird!
Ummm I watch too much TV!

blerg...
Sometimes I wonder why I haven't learned yet, not to let other people have control over my emotions. Hell, I can see or hear something upsetting and let it tear at my heartstrings. But one person... they can hold me up or tear me down, and I have no say. How the fuck did I get here, to this very spot?
p.s.
I know I just made an embarrassing emotional rant not more than half an hour ago, but check out Kadanuumuu (aka "big man"). He's a 4 million year old hominid! Newly discovered and published, and also the most complete clavicle and shoulder blade ever found in the human fossil record. Coolness!
